International Day of Yoga 2021

From 2015, The International Day of Yoga is celebrated globally on 21st June. The theme for this year is "Yoga for well-being". This theme aligns with our times in a society that is still recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This post will teach you some of the basic yoga asanas and their benefits for our well being:

1. Sukhasana - This asana is a position for meditation and pranayama. It is also called a Half or Full Lotus position. You get a lot of benefits by doing this Asana. This includes relieving stress, improving body posture, calming your mind, etc. Below is a picture of how to do the Asana.

2. Bhujangasana - Also known as the 'Cobra pose' is a reclining back-bending asana. It stretches our chest, lungs, and abdomen. It stimulated the abdominal organs and helps relieve stress and fatigue.

3. Vrikshasana - This Asana is also called the Tree pose since it replicates a fully grown tree. It strengthens your body, especially your legs and back. It also improves body balance and is hence called the balancing asana.

It's not about being good at something. It's about being good to yourself.

Yoga improves your health and enhances your self-awareness. Practicing Yoga daily in the morning will make your day go better. We hope you have learned some asanas through this post.

Stay healthy, stay safe, and practice yoga!

Cheers,

Deslo
